Located on the banks of the River Godavari, Ramagundam, though a small city, known to few and not to many is one of the famed destinations to visit in the Pedadappalli district of Telangana. It got its name- The City of Energy because of the huge and sprawling acres of coalfields along the Godavari valley. It is the existence of this coal mammoth; this city has one of India’s largest thermal power stations in the Southern zone under NTPC. Besides this, an irrigation project and the city’s first solar power plant are also incorporated in this place.
Ramagundam got its name from; Rama meaning Lord Rama and Gundam meaning water springs. It is also believed that Lord Rama was residing at this place during his 14 years of exile and, that is the reason why this place holds the very famous Ramar Temple in the old town of Ramagundam. This place, apart from the power stations, it is also famous for;

One visiting here will never wish to leave the place because of the oneness that this temple creates. Very near to this temple, you will find the shrines of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga. Om Sai Shri Sai.
Anjaneya Temple-
The uniqueness of this temple is the tall- structured statue of Lord Anjaneya and the ten Shivalingas where on amongst the many will be larger in size compared to the rest. The larger Linga has a Vilvam on top that continuously pours a drop of water on the Linga. Built in the medieval period, this temple is worth visiting.

If we hear someone saying garden, the first thing that comes to our mind is the Botanical Garden in Ooty but let me tell you that this city has a vast collection of astonishing and beautiful roses. Seeing it doesn’t stop one from plucking and, besides this rose garden is a park for children.
