Kanchipuram- The City of 1000 Temples

Kailasanathar Temple-
The biggest temple in the city of Kanchipuram, situated on the banks of the Vedavathi River is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva that is constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture. Ekambaranatha Temple-

This temple was built by the Pallavas but was later renovated by the Cholas. The unique feature of this temple is that there are 1000 lingas carved from a single stone and one can find 1000 pillars in the temple hall. Besides the two, if there is something interesting then it is the mango tree that is 3500 years old and holds four different limbs of fruits that all tastes differently.
Varadaraja Temple-
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu and built by the Vijayanagar Kings, this temple stands tall with its chain of pillars that are all carved from a single granite rock. Each pillar in the temple holds a recount of Lord Vishnu’s life. Also, there are fire corridors inside this temple.
